She, along with her husband, Arthur, perished in a fire when Amy and Dan were very young. The fire was set by Isabel Kabra, the co-leader of the Lucian branch of the Cahill family.
Gideon Cahill hid the master Serum from Damien Vesper and split the unfinished Serum into four parts—the four branch Serums. He gave each of the Serums to each of his four children, according to their strengths. It altered and enhanced their DNA, giving them each the skills their branches are known for.
Ian Kabra is a Lucian operative who, with his sister Natalie, makes up one of the first teams in the Clue Hunt. His family were the leaders of the Lucian Branch. He was fourteen years old in the original Series 1, but is sixteen years-old in Series 2, both times the same age as Amy Cahill.
Arthur Trent is the father of Amy Cahill and Dan Cahill.

At the beginning of Book 6 Dan finishes assembling the serum and drinks it. However, Amy had replaced it with a fake. In Countdown, Amy drinks the serum to save Dan from Pierce's goons, but in return starts dying.

Taken simply as a story, this first book is pretty good. Sure, you have to park your disbelief at the door and give up on any expectation of realism. That done, it's loads of fun, with action, mysteries, and clues. It's clearly intended to make money, and a little more baldly than most.
The author has written a crossover story featuring both Carter Kane and Percy Jackson! Titled “The Son of Sobek,” the short will be published as part of the paperback edition of Riordan's third installment of the Kane Chronicles, The Serpent's Shadow. Percy and Carter are my touchstones.”
