The AHL sets a minimum salary in their CBA for players on AHL contracts. For this season it is $51,000. It's not clear if that amount is overridden by the proration agreement, but if not, then NHL players in the AHL could be paid considerably less than the AHL thinks is a reasonable minimum for a minor-leaguer.
How much do players make in the ECHL?

Not only has the NHL grown exponentially since the 1990s, it is continuing to grow even more today. After recently adding two new teams that cover two major sports areas (Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights), we can assume there will be some spike in viewership looking towards the future.
